Meet Holly

A face that many of you will already know as she welcomes you to Rossis at Reception, may we introduce Holly – always ready to greet our visitors with a warm welcome and a big smile!  We asked her to tell us a little about the person behind the desk and here’s what we found out.

Holly actually began her career at Rossis in 2003 aged just 17 between College and University studies and she absolutely loved it so returned to us quite recently, loving the Rossis “family” vibe from Members and staff, making it a great place to work.  She says that a big smile and a friendly, approachable demeanour go a long way and she always tries to give off “happy vibes” whether it’s reassuring her team that they’re doing a great job or motivating Members.

Holly is a big fan of swimming and finds it great for both mind and body; she believes the tranquil atmosphere at the pool is perfect for a relaxing swim and to take your mind to calmer place, as well as for an all over body workout!  She believes in setting achievable short-term goals in order not to put too much pressure on yourself and that it’s best to find what suits your lifestyle – some form of exercise is better than none!  A good day at work is feeling that she’s made a difference and ticking off lots from her “to do list”.

However, appreciating that sometimes it’s not so easy to stay motivated in the cold winter months we asked for her top 3 tips as winter draws in.

Holly’s Tip No. 1 – we all deserve treats over the cold, festive season so reward yourself with a mince pie after your Step Class or 50 lengths of the Pool.

Holly’s Tip No. 2 – use those dark evenings as an opportunity to rest and recuperate with an early night.

Holly’s Tip No. 3 – pack those vitamin-filled vegetables into your winter warmer meals like casseroles.

As a busy working mum, Holly knows it can be difficult to find the time to regularly squeeze in an hour in the gym so loves combining family time with some exercise!  Long walks on the beach or in the woods or even roller-skating as well as swimming and points out that even a bit of silly time dancing around the room with the kids helps burn calories without even realising! The best days are a Sunday at home with all the family, a roast dinner after a beach walk followed by a cosy night in with a good film.  Holly says her two children are her proudest achievement and motivate her to set them a great example every day and that family, friends, health and happiness are what’s most important.
